Recent Work

June 2017, Commissioned by Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts to conserve damage to a water gilded frame for a work by Francis Bacon in the collection.

 

September 2016, Involved in a collaborative project to renovate the coat of arms

and gilded finials of the gates to Madingley Hall, Cambridgeshire - home of the

University of Cambridge (ICE).

 

April 2014, Established new course teaching beginners the basics in water-gilding and oil gilding (please see shop page for forthcoming dates)

 

October 2013, Carried out a full restoration to Kenninghall village sign, in South Norfolk including gilding, signwriting and renovation of the wrought iron structure

 

September - December 2012, Worked on a major architectural gilding project to the interior of a privately owned country house in Norfolk.

 

May 2012, Contracted to gild lettering on WWI War Memorial, Holy Trinity Church, Cambridge as part of an English Heritage restoration project.

 

Sept 2011, Returned to Winsor Bishop to gild new lettering and provide the matching scheme to their new premises next door.

 

November 2010, Gilded column bases and capitals on the shop front of Winsor Bishop jewellers in London Street, Norwich.

 

Sept 2010, Involved in the painstaking conservation of the exquisite gilt carved wood frame c.1680 for the Rubens "The Return from Egypt" on loan from Holkham Hall for the exhibition 'The Art of Faith' at Norwich Castle Museum.

 

Jan 2010, Cleaning and restoration work was carried out on location to numerous frames belonging to a private collection in North Norfolk.

 

Summer 2009, Commissioned to do some exterior gilding to highlight a monogram on wrought iron gates to a private house in Norfolk.  Subsequently, another commission in the next village was completed on another set of gates.

 

April 2008, Travelled to Guangzhou, China to instruct students in the art of traditional European water gilding.
